The Rev. Paul Parnell was the son of Paul Parnell, senior, a well known bon vivant at the end of the 18th century. The Reverend Paul became domestic chaplain to the 5th Earl of Scarbrough. He was curate at Tickhill until his death in 1803. He married Elisabeth Pashley in 1796 and had 3 children.
