Doncaster History Forum wants to collect as many Doncaster memories of village life during the last century, as there is a rich history in the town that lives on in the minds of the townsfolk.
If they get enough posts on the forum, they want to make them into a series of small free publications and as free downloads from Discover Doncaster's site.

Records of Church Courts in the north of England A new resource for local history in our area is available.The Borthwick Institute at the University of York holds the records of the church courts in the north of England. These records have now been analysed and a searchable database created.  The result is that a mass of information, from every parish in the north, can now be found very easily by local history researchers. 

 The web site has all details of the project and an application form for research activities.  

Tickhill Male Voice Choir The Choir was founded in 1961; it meets for practices in Tickhill Methodist Church on Northgate at 7.30pm on Mondays and performs a variety of concerts throughout the year. For more information:- www.tickhillmalevoicechoir.org

The Staniforth Family. The Staniforth Surname Society follows the line of the Staniforth family and has recently investigated  those who lived in the Tickhill/Braithwell/Stainton area from the 1500s through to the late 1700s. To view their site, please click on the link http://staniforthfamily.com

The Chesterfield Canal Trust. The Trust has restored the majority of the Chesterfield Canal to a navigable state after it had fallen into almost total negelct. Its aim is to make the canal fully navigable from Chesterfield to the Trent. Lots of history, lots of activities.

The Doncaster and District Heritage Association is an umbrella organisation for like-minded organisations in the Doncaster Borough.

The DDHA aims to promote interest at all levels, in the study, research, recording and preservation of the heritage and history of Doncaster and surrounding districts, including local history, family history, archaeology and all other associated activities.
